Peter says he raced Formula Ford (erratically) in the early 1970’s. It’s not clear if he drove erratically or wether his participation was erratic! Unfortunately he had to give up due to lack of money and instead focused on his career as an accountant.
Although now retired from that honourable profession, one of his assignments put Peter in the thick of running Lola cars for 6 months when it ran into financial difficulty in 1997. Lola was eventually sold to current owner, Martin Birrane and that experience indirectly led Peter to return to the race track.
So in 1998 Peter returned to racing in historic series, firstly in sportscars with a Marcos, then graduating to a Lola T70. He finally saw the light of day and returned to open wheels with a F5000, then March and Williams F1 cars.
