Rowland competed in club level Formula Ford from 1990 and moved to British F3 in 1998 and 1999.
Switching disciplines for a while, Rowland tried National Karting (where Greg Caton of G-Cat racing actually taught him to drive!) in 2002-04.
Since 2005, he has competed periodically with HFO, dovetailing this with 2 seasons in Group CN Production Sports endurance racing during 2006-07.
Rowland has been an HFO regular since 2008 and, with the Arrows A4-2 that he acquired from Richard Eyre in 2008, has become a consistent front runner.
