HFO and Classic Team Lotus are very pleased to announce that drivers in Class C (ground effect cars) of the Championship will be racing for the honour of winning the Colin Chapman Trophy.
Many historic racing series and events name their trophies in honour of individuals who have made a significant contribution to motor racing over the years. HFO decided it would be appropriate to adopt this tradition for the award of trophies for each of the four classes in the Championship.
Clive Chapman of Classic Team Lotus agreed it would be especially fitting to name the Class C trophy for his father since it was Colin Chapman who successfully introduced the concept of ground effect to Formula One.
Clive has generously agreed to provide the trophy which will be presented to the Class C winner each year.
Trophies for the other HFO classes will be announced in due course
